Gossip News Desk: In 1981, a movie called ‘Silsila’ became very popular. Many people still remember it today. One big reason is the famous actors in it. The movie was directed by Yash Chopra. It starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Rekha, Sanjeev Kumar, and Shashi Kapoor. But surprisingly, Amitabh’s real-life wife, Jaya Bachchan, wasn’t the first choice to play his wife in the movie.
Before Jaya, Parveen Babi was going to be in the movie as Amitabh Bachchan’s wife. But then Jaya got the role instead, which made Parveen very sad. In an interview, a friend of Parveen named Ranjit said something surprising. He said people were talking about Amitabh and Rekha being in love, and the director thought it would be interesting to make a movie about that. So, they made ‘Silsila’.
Gossip News Desk: Ranjit said, “When Parveen Babi was replaced in ‘Silsila’, she was very sad and crying. It happened because of a problem. When Amitabh Bachchan was asked to be in the movie, he agreed right away. But there was a big issue. The director, Yash, wanted Rekha to play Amitabh’s girlfriend in the movie, while Parveen wanted to be his wife on-screen.”
But, people talking about Rekha and Amitabh being in a relationship was causing problems in his marriage with Jaya. Jaya made Amitabh promise that he wouldn’t work with Rekha. Even though Amitabh agreed, he still decided to do the movie. Then, Jaya also decided to come back to acting in Bollywood and joined the cast of the same film.
