Qualification for SSC CGL

  4. For SSC CGL, you should be at least 18 years old and no more than 27 years old.

  1. Tier-I: Preliminary Examination
    • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
    • Subjects: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension
    • Total Marks: 200 (50 marks for each section)
    • Time Duration: 60 minutes
  2. Tier-II: Mains Examination
    • Mode: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
    • Papers:
      • Paper-I: Quantitative Abilities
      • Paper-II: English Language and Comprehension
      • Paper-III: Statistics (for the posts of Statistical Investigator Gr. II and Compiler)
      • Paper-IV: General Studies (Finance and Economics) (for the post of Assistant Audit Officer)
    • Total Marks: Varies based on the paper
    • Time Duration: 2 hours for each paper (3 hours for Paper-I and Paper-II for candidates eligible for scribes)
  3. Tier-III: Descriptive Paper
    • Mode: Pen and Paper mode (Descriptive Paper in English or Hindi)
    • Subject: Essay/Letter/Application/Precis Writing
    • Total Marks: 100
    • Time Duration: 60 minutes
  4. Tier-IV: Skill Test/Computer Proficiency Test (wherever applicable)
    • Skill Test: Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) at 8,000 Key Depression per hour (KDPH) on the computer
    • Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): For the posts where it is applicable

What is the salary of SSCCGL? 

The salary structure for this (Combined Graduate Level) positions varies based on the post and the level of the job. The salary details are generally described in terms of Pay Band, Grade Pay, and other allowances.     • Grade Pay: Rs. 4800/-

    • Grade Pay: Rs. 4600/-
    • Gross Salary: Around Rs. 50,725/- per month (including HRA and DA)
  3. Income Tax Inspector:
    • Pay Band: Rs. 9300-34800/-

  4. Central Excise Inspector:
    • Pay Band: Rs. 9300-34800/-
